Nozomu Nez Tokugawa
Prior to retiring in 2003 Nez was a Chief Information Officer, President and Board Member for various banks and holding companies primarily in Southern California including start up community banks as well as national holding companies. Nez is a CAL graduate with a passion for perfection and compassion. He has served on for profit and non-profit boards fulfilling executive positions as well as chairing fundraising, membership, education and financial committees. Today Nez and wife Donna are Co-founders of Chado-En, a loose leaf tea business, Founding Directors of The Wellness Gardens a 501c3 and proudly serve on the Ceres Community Project Board.
Nez and Donna have been business partners since 1986 working together to serve investors and their communities. In 2000 Nez and Donna became a “couple” and married in 2005. Together they share in the joy of 3 daughters 31, 30 and 29. Their two oldest daughters are married living in So Ca and their youngest daughter; Tai is the General Manger of Chado-En and serves as a volunteer for The Wellness Gardens and Ceres Community Project.
Donna held positions as Chief Operating Officer, President and Chairman of the Board with various banks and holding companies in Southern California, prior to retiring in 2003. She attended Claremont Graduate University’s Peter F. Drucker and Masatoshi Ito graduate school of management and was a frequent public speaker addressing paradigm shifts in leadership. Today much of her energy is directed toward humanitarian work. She is inspired by the shifts which may occur through her work with The Wellness Gardens and Ceres Community Project. Much joy comes from working with their daughter Tai at Chado-En and as one of the Tea Docents she is a regular contributor to the Tea Lifestyle Journal. A visionary at the core Donna finds inspiration through their frequent travels to Asia, her own home garden and most importantly her beautiful relationship with her husband Nez.
Susan has served in various Quality and Regulatory capacities within the pharmaceutical, biologics and medical device sectors for over 25 years. She has also served a U.S. FDA investigator in the rapidly expanding Los Angeles District. With a passion for perfection, people and planet she works diligently to ensure corporate production goals are met or exceeded while keeping a keen eye on product/public safety.
With a curious nature and fast mind Susan seeks challenging “out of the box” opportunities. She attended several PhD programs in Natural Health and then as the first women in the world she earned her doctorate degree in global regulatory science from USC School of Pharmacy. This professional doctorate is a novel, specialized program of study that cultivates research, leadership and inquiry skills positioning her as a true leader in the emerging reality of global regulatory science. As our world becomes smaller, cultures must blend and converge, Susan’s acute awareness of this global shift was the core to her pursuing a product lifestyle strategy, project and personnel management proficiency supporting global regulatory strategy and policy.
Susan brings this rich and innovative background to the important work of The Wellness Gardens along with the generous spirit of being one of the first “Stewards of the World” with her financial support.
